Sexual harassment is a pervasive issue that can significantly affect the safety, well-being, and academic performance of students. It is essential for educational institutions to provide a secure environment where students can learn and grow without fear of harassment or discrimination. To address this critical issue, Aghorekamini Prakashchandra Mahavidyalaya has established an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell dedicated to preventing and responding to instances of sexual harassment on campus.

FUNCTIONS

• Policy Implementation:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive anti-sexual harassment policies in accordance with legal guidelines.
2. Ensure that all students, faculty, and staff are informed about these policies and understand their rights and responsibilities.

• Complaint Mechanism:

1. Establish a robust and accessible complaint mechanism for reporting incidents of sexual harassment.
2. Ensure that all complaints are promptly and thoroughly investigated in a fair and confidential manner.

• Support Services:

1. Provide counseling and support services to victims of sexual harassment to help them recover from the trauma and continue their education or work without fear.
2. Offer guidance and support to individuals accused of harassment to understand the implications of their actions and encourage behavioral reform.

• Disciplinary Actions:

1. Take appropriate disciplinary actions against individuals found guilty of sexual harassment, in accordance with the institution's policies and legal requirements.
2. Ensure that disciplinary measures are fair, transparent, and uphold the rights of all parties involved.

• Awareness and Training:

1. Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate the campus community about sexual harassment, consent, and respectful behavior.
2. Promote a culture of zero tolerance towards sexual harassment through regular awareness campaigns and initiatives.
