Aghorekamini Prakashchandra Mahavidyalaya is committed to fostering an eco-friendly campus and instilling environmental values in its students. The establishment of an Environmental Committee is essential to spearhead these efforts, ensuring that the college actively contributes to environmental conservation and sustainability.

The Environmental Committee is crucial for raising awareness about environmental issues among students, faculty, and staff. Through educational programs and campaigns, the committee highlights the importance of sustainability and encourages eco-friendly practices on campus. The committee plays a key role in initiating and implementing sustainability projects, such as waste management, energy conservation, and water-saving measures. The committee is responsible for planning and overseeing the development of eco-friendly infrastructure on campus. FUNCTIONS

  • Policy Formulation and Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies and guidelines for the campus. Ensure that these policies are effectively communicated and adhered to by all members of the college community.
  • Awareness and Education Programs: Organize workshops, seminars, and campaigns on environmental issues, sustainability practices, and conservation strategies. Promote participation in environmental events and observances, such as Earth Day and World Environment Day.
  • Sustainability Projects: Initiate and oversee projects related to waste management, recycling, energy conservation, water management, and biodiversity conservation. Encourage student involvement in these projects to enhance their practical understanding of sustainability.
  • Green Campus Initiatives: Plan and implement initiatives to enhance the green cover on campus, such as tree plantation drives and the creation of gardens and green spaces. Promote the use of eco-friendly materials and practices in campus operations.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with the local community through environmental education programs, clean-up campaigns, and conservation activities. Promote community participation in environmental sustainability efforts.
