ABOUT

The foundation of a democratic society rests on informed and active participation of its citizens. Educational institutions play a critical role in nurturing responsible and aware future voters. In this context, Aghorekamini Prakashchandra Mahavidyalaya is committed to promoting electoral literacy among its students through the establishment of an Electoral Literacy Club (ELC). The ELC aims to educate and engage students about the electoral process, encouraging them to become informed and active participants in the democratic process.

OBJECTIVES

  • Educate Students: Educate students about the electoral process, including voter registration, the functioning of the Election Commission, and the importance of free and fair elections.
  • Promote Voter Registration: Encourage and assist students in registering to vote, ensuring that they understand the process and the significance of their vote.
  • Conduct Awareness Programs: Organize workshops, seminars, debates, and interactive sessions on topics related to democracy, elections, and civic responsibility.
  • Facilitate Mock Elections: Conduct mock elections to give students hands-on experience with the electoral process, helping them understand the practical aspects of voting and elections.
  • Collaborate with Electoral Bodies: Collaborate with local election offices and other organizations to conduct awareness campaigns and voter education programs.
